Known to the general public as the legendary coach of Saint-Étienne's 1976 World Cup-winning team, Robert Herbin nevertheless had an international career as a player. Unfortunately, his 1966 World Cup was a double disappointment: France was eliminated in the first round (by eventual champions England) and he suffered a serious knee injury (caused by an English player).
